Reporting

Numbers you can act on, including the bad ones

Every agency reports. The question is whether the report tells you where you are losing — because that is the part you can do something about.

What we leave out

The rank grid

One position number hides the geography

We measure your position from points spread across the area you serve, not from a single spot. A business can sit first on its own street and ninth four miles away, and the average of those two tells you nothing useful about either.

The weak squares are the point of the exercise. They are where the next month’s work goes.

What gets counted

Actions, then the searches behind them

Concrete Shield Coatings, over an eight-month period: 306 interactions on the Business Profile, up 37% on the period before it, and 990 clicks from search.

The split underneath is what makes it actionable. Brand searches are people who already knew them; discovery searches are people who did not. Growing the second number is the job.

What we leave out

Four numbers we will not send you

Not because they are hard to produce — because they are easy to produce and they flatter the sender rather than informing you.

Questions

What people ask about reporting

Monthly, on the same date. If something breaks in between — a listing gets suspended, a page falls out of the index — you hear about it that week, not at month end.

Yes. The accounts are yours. Search Console and the Business Profile stay in your name and you keep access whether or not you work with us.

Your position measured from points across your service area rather than one location. A business can sit first on its own street and fourteenth four miles away, and only a grid shows you that.

Both, in that order. Calls, direction requests, messages and form enquiries come first, because they are the outcome. Rankings follow as the explanation for why the outcome moved.
